Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account or using ZA Study Assist, you agree to these Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy and our Refund Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian permits your use.

2. Your account

• You must provide accurate registration details and keep your login credentials confidential.
• You are responsible for all activity that takes place under your account.
• Accounts are for a single user and may not be shared or resold.
• Tell us promptly at migal@flowstatedev.co.za if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.

3. AI pages & payments

The service runs on prepaid AI pages (credits). New accounts receive a small number of free credits, and further credits can be purchased. One credit is consumed per AI action (a full study pack uses more). Credits do not expire and are not redeemable for cash except as set out in our Refund Policy. Payments are processed in South African Rand (ZAR) by our payment processor, Paystack; we do not store your card details. Prices may change from time to time, but changes do not affect credits you have already purchased.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• upload content you do not have the right to use, or that is unlawful, infringing or harmful;
• use the service to cheat in a way that breaches your institution’s academic-integrity rules;
• attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, overload or gain unauthorised access to the service; or
• resell or commercially exploit the service without our written permission.

5. AI-generated content & academic responsibility

ZA Study Assist uses third-party artificial-intelligence models to help you summarise, explain and study your material. AI output can be incomplete, outdated or wrong. It is a study aid, not professional, legal, medical or academic advice, and it is not a substitute for your own reading and judgement. You are solely responsible for checking accuracy and for how you use the output, including complying with the rules of your school, college or university. Content you upload remains yours; you grant us a limited licence to process it solely to provide the service to you.

6. Availability

We work to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may modify, suspend or discontinue features, and we may carry out maintenance, with or without notice.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, and subject to your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, the Company is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for loss of marks, data or profit, arising from your use of or reliance on the service or its AI output. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for AI pages in the three months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or the law. You may stop using the service at any time; unused credits are handled in line with the Refund Policy.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The “last updated” date above shows the current version, and your continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction over any dispute.
